Each 4.5 inch shelf has an oak lip on the front  that keeps your punches securely in place.   If you use this table top, you can use the long border punches because they can hang over the back of the shelf.  This unit also has a handy shelf on top for storage.  The front bar of the shelf is made to store your hand punches.  You could probably fit 25-30 punches on this bar.  Behind the bar is storage for embellishments, tape, rulers and all the other essentials for paper crafts.  I like to tie scissors to this bar also.The most practical part is this unit can either be used table top or mounted flush to the wall.  We will send you oak feet with predrilled holes.  I will mark the left from the right with a removable sticker.  We also send screws.  If you want to use it table top, just screw the feet onto the unit.
